Honours life reflection part III

1 06 2008

Took a walk from Dhoby Gaut to Somerset after parting with Renu just now.. was pondering about one of the themes that came up in the documentary – reconciliation.

Hmm.. I suppose if I could sum up what this social work education has given me… I would say that one of the lessons is that I’ve learnt to accept, tolerate and understand that there ARE ambiguities in life – not everything can be reconciled, not everything needs to be reconciled. Life is not just all about straight lines… not everything is that neat. And if every thing’s so neat, then maybe life is not that fun, or not that worth living anymore (don’t you feel a sense of awe when you see someone triumph in messy life situations?)
